Open gardens weekend
The weekend of the 4th 5th 6th of June is the weekend in France when private gardens open to the public. For the last two years we have been fortunate that Richard and Rhiannon Beech of LA SERPOUILLERE near Beaulieu sur Sonnette and Peter and Caroline Matthews of CHEZ BLANCHARD near Valence have opened their gardens and donated the money to CSF Charente Plus. Once again this year they have kindly offered to do the same thing.

CHEZ BLANCHARD
Opening hours Friday 4th and Saturday 5th 14h00--1800 Sunday 6th 10h00--18h00
Over 15 years the owners have transformed a 4 acre meadow into a varied English style garden. A background of trees and hedges encloses a number of smaller areas which are planted in different ways. There's a white bed in homage to Sissinghurst, a small gravel garden and the swimming pool is surrounded by flower beds.A large mound of stones from digging out the pool has become a scree garden.
LA SERPOUILLERE
Opening hours Saturday 5th and 6th of June 9h00--12h00 and 14h00--18h00
This garden is being created from a former small holding and is developing as a flower garden with colour coordinated flower beds. There are a wide range of roses clematis and day lilies on show.
